Latisse Eyelash Growth Medication
Latisse Eyelash Growth Medication:
Many women have sparse or thinning eyelashes, and would like to enhance their cosmetic appearance without the use of daily mascara and eyeliner. A prescription drug known as Latisse, has been introduced to the market from Allergan Laboratories. It is available in most pharmacies by prescription and requires up to 16 weeks for maximal effect. It is applied nightly to clean lid margins using a special applicator. After a period of time, users experience darker, thicker and longer lashes. Most patients are candidates for use, however, an eye exam is recommended before a prescription is released to determine if the patient is at risk of masking undiagnosed glaucoma with the mild eye pressure changes experienced in users. Some patients will report a darkening of the lid skin when the gel is applied which may or may not be permanent. There is also risk of a darkening of the iris in some patients which is not reversible. This is much more prevalent in light eyed patients. Talk to your doctor if you have any concerns regarding the safety or long term use of Latisse. The eyelash growth experienced is only maintained as long as the medication is being used. The effect is not permanent without chronic daily applications.
