Frame Measurements and PD ( Pupil Distance )
Each patient will need different measurements including the temple size, bridge size, eye size, seg height, binocular pd, monocular pd, and much more. These precise measurements are crucial to make sure that you see properly, and that the glasses fit properly. Proper fitting will result in better comfort, feel, and proper vision. This is why it is necessary to have a trained optician to take your measurements.
Many patients have asked "Can I take these measurements myself?" Of course you can, but in doing so you run the risk of miscalculating your measurements. Your vision, although sometimes it is only slightly noticable, will not be as good if it were done by someone who performs these measurements on a daily basis. Doing this yourself may mean you have to replace your lenses or even worse the frames and lenses all together.
At Atlanta Vision Optical all of our customers who purchase new frames will recieve their measurements at no additional charge.
