A contact lens fitting is part of your contact lens examination. The fitting process is different for each patient with varying levels of difficulty, especially for those wearing toric lenses. The more time the optometrist spends with you the higher the fitting level will be. Contact lens fitting levels are graded from 1 to 4. A level 1 fitting is considered to be the easiest in difficulty and has a lower fitting fee than the other levels. Vice verus, A level 4 fitting is considered the highest difficulty and will result in a higher fitting fee. Fee schedules for fittings vary from doctor to doctor and by location.
